i just blasted my salary within days of receiving it
again.
im hopeless in this area. waste of money they may say, but i work to learn, so the money dont really mean much, and so it becomes that my purpose of working is just to waste all the money ive earned
ok maybe a little covered up. *sulks* im juz a big shopper and cant help it
anyone(who isnt a spendthrift) would be screaming and pointing fingers at me. $200 gone in 3 days? 15 days of working for that $200? NO WAY!
my parents were very very shocked at how fast my salary went. so sad! i defended myself using the excuse "at least its my money im spending now".. didnt really help as theyre still angry.. but Really What...
anyway. i find it fun working there. the people are nice and i dont really slack all the time... well, not as much as i do at school.
my horoscope sign, the goat (capricorn), is hardworking, blah blah.. and the MOST HARDWORKING sign of all. omgosh, when i read it.
i wondered if my birthdate was recorded wrongly or horoscope is all thrash. not that im too full of myself or what, but i realized, at work, i really dont give myself excuses to slack and i do try to do/give my best all the time...
i cant say the same is for school, though. i take every opportunity to be lazy, talk and sleep. wow!! something is wrong with school then. i just detest social studies, politics in singapore is EEEEEEK, it makes you wanna puke and spit at the politicians.
our education system is propaganda filled. people who fall in the trap either end up :
[o1] partially crippled. you dont like to be an employer, you prefer to work under people, even though you know you will never be rich, you dont even feel like getting rich by having your own company. as a student your only goals are to do really well in school, get a government-funded scholarship, set up a family, and.. nothing else. your children will be forced to think that the only way to get rich is to study so you push them really hard to do even better than you did. and you buy 4D and TOTO, hoping you'll get rich

[o2] stupid. coz your parents forced you to excel in your studies, you have no life. youre scared of going anywhere further than the 'mama shop', you dont like to do anything but stay at home and study, you dont know what are blingblings, you've heard of orchard but never been there and youre just... very unstreet smart.
[o3] brainwashed. you would never think of going against the government. not literally. but you wouldnt wanna set up your own company to rival the governments, the only stocks you would dare to buy are those belonging to the government, your all time fave tune is the national anthem, you hang up the national flag at july and only take it down at the end of september. you would be cursing me, and you would wanna take me to court and finally, jail.
[o4] braindead. your lifelong ambition is to be a politician with the PAP and when election comes around, you create your own flyers, asking the people in your area to support PAP. you pray and pray all day, at the same time cursing any opposition parties. not to mention, you know a whole lot about sg and wont want to do anything but serve the government and hope to bring your country to 'greater heights'. and, you would do anything just to be part of the government. after reading this, i would immediately be executed
luckily for me, not many number 4s are around. if they are, they would be spending their whole day thinking of how to do something great for sg. they wont have time for anything else and that includes meeee.....................

no, serious! if you're more intelligent, you would study just well enough to get a degree or smth like that. but you wouldnt spend ALL DAY, your WHOLE LIFE studying.

DOES NOT prepare anyone for the real life out there. fresh graduates unemployed? little wonder. they are those who are either stupid or partially crippled. coz its not like all fresh graduates are unemployed.
some manage to stop thinking the way our education system teaches us to, and move on in life. many dont. i dont know if i will be able to survive in the real world, but i know that if i continue like that i wont.
from me to me : do something about your life, dammit! studying is a drag but you have no choice, you live here, so study for the sake of immigrating! so what if you're a quitter? who says all stayers are winners anyway??!
